I have been teaching in North Carolina for 14 years. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in General Music Education
University of South Florida.
My major instrument was voice. While in Florida, I worked professionally as the
soprano section leader and soloist for the Most Holy Redeemer church in Tampa. While in that position I recorded a CD
with our choir entitled “
Look For The Love
.“ I think it is important in a field such as music or theatre to maintain performance
skills as well as one’s teaching skills. While in North Carolina, I have worked with several community and professional
In 2006 I achieved my
National Board Certification
in Middle/High school music. Accomplishing this certification was
quite a challenge, but it really helped me to reflect on myself as a teacher and better serve my students. In 2007, I was
voted West Lee Middle School Teacher of the Year for 2007-2008. At the end of this year, I will graduate with my
Masters of Education in Instructional Technology from
North Carolina State University
